Our Brave Ambassadors

It is kind of a cliché at this point, but I’m sick and tired of our military and its supporters defaming our diplomats as pansies and cocktail monkeys (I’m looking at you, Ralph Peters). This anecdote is one of many reasons why it is just silly. Here’s another: since World War II, how many Ambassadors have been killed in the line of duty? And how many Generals or Admirals? How about the loss rates of foreign service officers versus infrantrymen? It is worth pondering.
Of course, this issue would never have risen if not for all the chest thumping. Knock it off, fellas.
