Although not a huge fan of either of the teams playing in this year’s Superbowl, I admit to being both impressed and happy that Indy won. The first quarter made me doubt Indy’s chances, but they struggled back to to take the lead heading into halftime. Peyton Manning can now put the ghost of Dan Marino to rest and Tony Dungy can join the record books as the third person to win a Superbowl as both player and coach. Well done, Colts. Enjoy the offseason; you’ve earned it!

I gotta admit that I was pulling for the Colts, just because I really like Peyton Manning. The guy is a real class act without being all stuffy and pretentious. As they say in the South, “his Daddy done raised him right.”
That being said, I think the offensive line for the Colts deserved the MVP more than anyone else, with Addai a close second. The second touchdown for the Colts where Rhodes powered across the goal line was pure power on the part of the the OL. They man-handled the Bears around all night long.
I was pulling for the Colts as well.
I appreciate you giving props to one of the players I most enjoyed at LSU (very underrated) Mr. Addai, but I think he and Rhodes should have shared it, even over the O-line.
Addai was awfully good, don’t get me wrong, but those holes he was hitting didn’t come from Moses. The OL was playing smashmouth football, all night long. Just remember that they were on the field all the while the Bears lamented the length of time their defense spent out there. If the DL was tired, then the OL should have been too, but Manning continued to have time, Addai and Rhodes continued to find holes, and the Colts marched steadily down the rain-soaked turf.
Hey, I am biased and I make no apologies for it. Addai was one of the best backs in the country his last two years and got almost no recognition. I am glad he is getting some finally. I thought he would be a superb pro (and I am not surprised at all that he was more successful running the ball this year than Reggie Bush.)
