Clinton to Keep Defense Jobs Here

Here’s an ad some of you may not have seen. But now (wonder of wonders) since Indiana is a battleground state in the Democratic primary, it’s been getting plenty of air play during the local news programs.

Hillary Clinton:
Right here over 200 Hoosiers built parts that guided our military’s smart bombs to their targets.
They were good jobs, but now, they’re gone to China.
And now America’s defense relies on Chinese spare parts.
George Bush could have stopped it, but he didn’t.
As your president, I will fight to keep good jobs here, and to turn this economy around.
I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message because American workers should build America’s defense.

Seems like a simple enough case, doesn’t it. Bush and the Republicans failing to do what she would do.

But wait till you here the kicker about this.

The history of the particular plant she’s talking about.

Citing national-security concerns, two Democratic lawmakers are engaged in a last-ditch effort to halt plans for the transfer of an Indiana factory that produces critical technology used in the guidance systems of U.S. “smart bombs” to the People’s Republic of China.

The Department of Defense denies any impropriety, but some observers are asking: Is it a case of politics as usual, or a cover-up?

The Magnequench factory (originally known as UGIMAG) was sold in August 2000 to a consortium that included Chinese interests. In 2001, it was announced the plant would be shut down.

The factory is responsible for producing 80 percent of the rare-earth permanent magnets used in the guidance systems of U.S. “smart bombs,” according to lawmakers.

In 1995, Beijing San Huan New Material High-Tech Inc. and China National Non-Ferrous Metals Import & Export Corporation partnered with investment firm the Sextant Group Inc. to acquire Magnequench and established the new entity as Magnequench International Inc.

Magnequench, a high-tech company created in 1986 by General Motors, pioneered the development and production of quenched neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) – magnets used in the guidance system of “smart bombs.” Beijing San Huan New Materials High-Tech Inc. is a holding of the Chinese Academy of Science Business Group and was established in 1985. China National Non-Ferrous Metals – previously described by the Wall Street Journal as a “high-flying state company” – operates under the control of the State Council, one of the major organs of the Chinese government.

The 1995 sale required approval from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S., or CFIUS. The CFIUS is an inter-agency committee chaired by the secretary of treasury, tasked with conducting reviews of foreign acquisitions that might threaten national security.

Hmmm, the irony is just mahvelous… Now, who was in control of the Executive Branch way back in 1996.

On second thought, maybe her point is that she will do a better job than President Bush or her husband did!!!

I feel sorry for those who are still sending Hillary money. Guess they feel she needs the money. Or perhaps they buy into Hillary’s far-fetched idea that she’s winning. (Notice, Hillary doesn’t mention that her way of counting includes Florida and Michigan but not several caucus states. Since those states didn’t vote for Hillary, their vote apparently shouldn’t count. What a hypocrite.) Since Hillary can’t win by the RULES SHE AGREED to prior to the campaign, she wants the rules to change just for her. If she REALLY cared about the voters, why wasn’t she standing up for Florida and Michigan before she was loosing? Why did SHE AGREE that they should not be counted? Answer - because the only thing Hillary cares about is becoming President Hillary Clinton. No matter how. She changes her positions in a heart beat when it helps her politically. I’ll make it real simple so all you Hillary folks to understand:
More votes = More Delegates = Nomination
    VERY SIMPLE. ANY QUESTIONS?

I’m not sure why, but I’m still surprise by the level of invective thrown at Clinton that was previously only reserved for republicans. After Lieberman and now Clinton, it seems that it’s not an ideological reason for it, the reason is that it’s their opponent, no matter if they are one of them or not, it must be hated. Where in one breath, they decry as racists those not voting for Obama, and in the next call Clinton a c*nt and her supporters lesbians. I, for one, do not like how this bodes for the future of American politics.

ChrisB - Nice job of throwing in the C-bomb!. I have not heard any such terms thrown at HRC, but I sure feel that her strategy to show Obama has a flawed candidate has worked. Unfortunately for those of us (regardless of political affiliation) that want a candidate who does not support Bush’s unpopular Iraq policy nor his tax cuts, Hillary’s tactics have been harmful. I don’t like Hillary cause she lies more than the average politician and is dirty, and  now I like Obama less because he’s been put in such a negative light. I wish McCain didn’t support the war or the Bush tax cuts so I could vote for him.  HRC should chill out a little and be more positive for the sake of America. I actually think it would have helped her win if she’d run positive from the get go.

So, you are allowing the lies and negativity aimed at tearing down Obama to supersede your independent cognitive ability? Anyone can be put in a negative light; we must use our own mental faculties to recognize strategy, intent, and the truth. I’m asking you all to venture behind the headlines.
Far too few Americans are thinking for themselves and that is a detriment to us all.

Well we all need to remember that Hillary could look America straight in the eye and lie about Bosnia Sniper Fire for about 3 straight months while shooting down people who said the truth about it such as Sinbad.
Even Chelsea who was there could have corrected her if it was that she just ket on “misspeaking”. Chelsea was asked and she responded, yes its just like Hillary said.
It must run in the family as Bill was good at it too!
She did the same with NAFTA. Its all over YouTube that she stated that NAFTA was good for America upto 2004 (that I saw).

Sometimes it just makes me wonder about Americans that keep on voting for these 2 families Bush & Clinton. You will see another one in their family will pop up in 4 - 8 years from now!
