A tornado of misinformation

Amanda Terkel says Iraq is hurting relief efforts in Kansas. McQ points out that this is not only incorrect, but a bit ridiculous on its face.

Wasn’t Wyett Erp from Kansas?
Er, that should be “Wyatt”. Or should that be “Erp, that should be “Wyatt”.
Whatever.
He, well McQ, I had tried to resist earlier pointing this out (and ChrisB will probably make something of me saying anything, and he probably should) but. I. Can’t. Help. Myself.
It is spelled Earp.
Yeah but “Erp” sounds so much more vomitous. But I guess I should have consulted with Michael on the spelling since he is the local “Earp” specialist.
Probably a good idea. I consult with him often and at length.
Earp was born in Illinois but of course spent much time in Wichita and Dodge City Kansas as a law man.
Obviously we didn’t spend enough time on the subject, McQ. Earp isn’t “from Kansas”; he just made it a law-abidin’ place where peaceful folk could assemble … mostly to drink and gamble. If you had seen “Wyatt Earp” you would have known that. Watching only “Tombstone” has inhibited your Earp-osity.
Now, the real question is, how do I torture Jon with this theme?
I have little doubt you will find a very creative and enjoyable way (at least for you) to do so. ;)
So other than watching that execrable movie, is there another way to increase my “Earp-osity”?
Earp-osify yourself
“Execrable movie”!?! What foul beast has poisoned your mind, sir! I’ll bet it’s that unholy Earp-hater who calls himself “Buckethead”.
Earp-osity is more of a state of mind than a base of knowledge. But I won’t dissuade anyone from seeking their own path to enlightenment, as Chris has helpfully suggested.
I’m your huckleberry…
