We here at ASHC have made it perfectly clear that, even if you disagree with the decision to go to war in Iraq, there is no substitute for finishing the job correctly. Pulling out now or at a date certain in the near future, before the Iraqis can stand up for themselves, is not just an invitation to humanitarian disaster in the Middle East, it is a big welcome mat laid out for our sworn enemies, al Qaeda and its adherents. Let’s defeat them now, in Iraq, and plant the seed of democracy in the cradle of civilization while we have the chance.
Now is you chance to make your voice heard on this all important issue. Many bloggers have banded together to form a petition drive aimed at the recalcitrant Congress. We want to send a firm, unequivocal massage that losing is not an option, and that winning is not a choice. As the founders of this petition drive put it:
When it came to defeating the Soviets, Ronald Reagan made it simple: “We win, they lose.” Now more than ever, the defeatists in Congress must hear that same message. America will never surrender.
So go there now and sign the petition, and then spread the word.
