It’s certainly not unheard of, so was the recent Iranian rocket test really a success? The ever sourced “senior U.S. official” says the rocket wasn’t successful.
Sphere: Related Content“The Iranians did not successfully launch the rocket,” a senior U.S. defense official told CNN Monday.
The two-stage rocket could have been capable of launching a satellite into space, but the U.S. intelligence assessment shows that the second stage “was erratic and out of control,” said the official, who declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the intelligence.

Rocket or no rocket it matters not. These guys have probably puchased a lot of nuclear bomb parts and I would not be surprised to see them blowing themselves up the way many bombmakers do. Iran borders one of the former Russian nuclear states (Azerbaijan) and there are 4 nuclear weapons missing from former Russian states that we know of. When they will resurface in Tehran is anybody’s guess . Russian has been selling them nuclear parts for years but they are not supposed to sell them nuclear weapons themselves. I’m afraid we will someday see for ourselves.
