I have to say, Josh. I really like your style in how to create propaganda posts that bolster your side of things while creatively poking holes in people and beliefs you want to bring down.

Stephen Hayes, when even Doug Feith (who is renown for his honesty) won’t stand up for your articles on the Iraq-Al Qaeda connection, it might be time to admit you were wrong.

Was your last post.

Technically, Doug Feith is right: no one ever said it would be a cakewalk. Of course, that still doesn’t mean he’s not a big, fat liar desperate to rewrite history with someone else as the villain.

Is your current line now.

It's kind of great how you weave that consistency and ambiguity around with Feith. Suggesting that he is either too honest to stand up for Hayes' lies or not dishonest enough. Using your opponent's character flaws, ones which you have accused them of having, for your own benefit is great. Using your opponent's character traits and making them look like virtuous ones that also reinforce your views, is priceless.

Being able to ambiguously switch between using an opponent's dishonesty as both a virtue and a vice? Now that's the acme.

Cheney's not a big fat liar, even though some people wish him to be one if only because they want to ignore Feith.

Man, they must have a problem with reading comprehension over there. Looking at the first 4 quotes they selected, none of them say anything about the ease, duration, or cost of the war.

And if you look at the fifth quote, IN CONTEXT, you'll see a much more balanced statement of Cheney's thoughts. In the end, the war against Saddam's regime, did last weeks, and not months, and it is the aftermath which has turned difficult.

SCHIEFFER: If we do have to take action, do you think it will be a long war or a short war? CHENEY: My own judgment based on my time as secretary of Defense, and having operated in this area in the past, I'm confident that our troops will be successful, and I think it'll go relatively quickly, but we can't... SCHIEFFER: Weeks? CHENEY: ...we can't count on that. SCHIEFFER: Months? CHENEY: Weeks rather than months. There's always the possibility of complications that you can't anticipate, but I have great confidence in our troops. The men and women who serve in our military today are superb. Our capabilities as a force are the finest the world has ever known. They're very ably led by General Tommy Franks and Secretary Rumsfeld. And so I have great confidence in the conduct of the military campaign. The really challenging part of it to some extent may come in the aftermath once the military segment is over and we move to try and stand up a new government and turn over to the Iraqi people the responsibilities to their nation.
