Badnarik Endorses 9/11 Conspiracy Theories

You may remember Michael Badnarik as the 2004 Libertarian Party nominee for President. Well, turns out he’s a crazy conspiracy nutter. Kinda regretting my vote for him now.

“It’s obvious that these buildings were brought down with pyrotechnics.” Well, I guess that settles it then. It’s just obvious (to a raving lunatic).

  2. Lance says:

Why, oh why can’t we have a better Libertarian Party?

    It is sort of odd.

There are a great number of libertarian commentators and columnists. Plus all the “conservative” bloggers like Instapundit who are libertarian. The ideas are out there and they’re popular. So what gives?

I used to think that radicals were good because they pushed ideas that regular people would adapt in a more realistic and moderate way… that those who pushed the edges pulled the center.

I’m not sure I think so anymore because it sure doesn’t seem that the center has been pulled.

That’s very often true Sy. But sometimes you push the edges so far that you fall off the edge. Then the center just cruelly laughs at you. :-D

Badnarik was always rather ridiculous and inclined toward hysterical and fanatical positions anyway. His fears of the United Nations are legendary. Consider too his willingness to pay enormous fines and serve jail time, because he believes driver’s licenses are oppressive. And let’s not forget the zip code conspiracy to suppress states rights. Ugh.
