“Hoos For Hokies” — REDUX

It’s funny how sometimes its the little one-off posts that generate so much attention. The “Hoos for Hokies” post featuring pictures of Beta Bridge in Charlottesville has garnered a huge number of hits and one commenter even requested info regarding procuring a Hoos for Hokies shirt to sport around Wytheville, VA. Towards that end, in the event that any others are interested, I thought I should point people in the right direction.

The pictures themselves were taken by Vincent Rivellino. If you want to put one of the pictures on a t-shirt or something, then you should get in touch with him.

For the philanthropists among you:

Fourth-year College student Raleigh Anne Blank took steps to create a group called Hoos For Hokies, an umbrella organization that will help direct different programs to provide aid to Virginia Tech in the following weeks.

“It’s a group that’s supposed to be a central contact point for people to know about events that are going on,” Blank said. The group will also keep students updated on how they can “help University students who were affected and Tech students who were affected.”

In addition, I just wanted to note for posterity’s sake that the Washington Nationals wore Va Tech hats on Tuesday night for an entire game. And I don’t mean they wore them while sitting in the dugout, but that they wore the hats as part of their official, league-sanctioned uniforms.
Nats Va Tech
That is not only touching, it’s unprecedented.

Anyway, there are lots of ways to show your support so be creative and feel free to drop suggestions in the comments.
